About Me
Turn Order Games - Start
Building a website has always been a goal of mine, and well here it finally is! It took me many iterations of brainstorming sessions to create a name I was happy with. The name had to be clever, yet simple. Turns out, no pun intended, it only took a messy dog bathe and some unhealthy obsession with game mechanics to come up with the name 'Turn Order Games'. The name stuck and I fell in love with it.
Games to me are my passion. Video games, tabletop games, party games, you name it. Competition fills me with joy. I started gaming when I was in elementary school and haven't stopped since. I can't say I started with the oldest school games, but the earlier memory of gaming was a simple Windows 3 game called "Bang! Bang! Execute!". A two player, 2d game, where you play as a cannons; with the goal of selecting the precise angle and power to projectile your cannon ball over a mountain and destroy your opponent.
From then on my gaming passion grew. I went from Nintendo duck hunt/Mario combo, to endless hours of the Final Fantasy series. Occasionally I got into other PlayStation games. If you asked if I was into tabletop games then, I would say no because Magic I believed was its own genre of game. With the emergence of Online gaming my passion basically siloed into Blizzard games. After complete some of the most difficult achievements in blizzard games, like reaching Masters in StarCraft and Rival in World of Warcraft I decided to pursue a computer science career. With macros being the most computer science experience I had, I was driven by the dream of being game developer at Blizzard.
However I quickly realized that I enjoyed playing games much more than programming games, and my career and hobbies diverted. I started getting really into tabletop games and will mostly talk about those on this site. I hope this site inspires me to design my own games in the future, but with how picky I am with mechanics and themes, we will see.
This is where my review series begins... I hope you enjoy this content as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
Thanks!
